News and Pre Festive Taster
Dear followers,
This blog post focuses on the beginnings of my pre-festive preparation and ideas for new work for my online store on my website. I am still awaiting news of a wonderful local Christmas Fair that I applied to in December, as this is something I have missed getting involved with since restrictions began ohhhhhhhhh agggggeeess agooooooo it feels! Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me won’t you!
The printed notebooks above & below make great gifts all year round and I can even send them, beautifully wrapped of course straight to your chosen recipients!
I also plan on making big screen printed paper chains…..that old favourite! I have had this fancy for some time that huge ones could be very quirky & cool, the lino printed (yes all by hand!) ones I made last year were great though took a long time to print and dry before cutting into strips and prepping with double sided tape in readiness for making into rings! What do you think? Large screen printed paper chains??!
I thought about making some hand screen printed sheets of gift wrap, or maybe ‘furoshiki’ inspired and print onto fabric pieces too. I have a sneaky feeling that you could re-adapt them as neck scarves too……sustainable and recyclable. Ohh and card sets, for all of your festive seasons greetings!
Studio News
My 2 large prints are currently at the framers and I am really curious to see how they look when I collect them next Monday. I decided to go for tray frames with a fillet between the work and the glass to give a gap and no window mounts, as the deckle edges and parts of the prints would be hidden.
It is great to hear from the Bankside Gallery that the Private View for the International Print Exhibition can go ahead to officially launch the show, I am so excited to be involved.
The gallery also hosts regular classes, workshops & talks and you can use the button below which directs you to the website if you’d like to find out more.
I have also approached a London based hotel group who specialise in creating interior spaces that link directly to wellbeing through links with nature. The artwork within the hotels are all carefully curated to echo the company ethos. The PR team would like to meet me next month so that I can show some of my work. I will let you know how I get on. Creating bespoke works or working to a commission is an area I would like to push with my practice and this will be a resolution for the coming year.
I am also having a Studio Sale to make room for new work so please feel very free to have a little peruse or to forward this onto someone you feel may like it. The promotion of 10% from any online store purchases as a thank you for signing up to this blog also runs out on Halloween, scary eh :)
Wishing you all a happy autumn…….the brilliance of the season is so evident on the recent sunny days when its vital to take a moment to look up and breathe deeply……
Until next time……..as ever I thank you for your time & for your continued support…….
