Neon Net 03 Currently on display in ‘Pantry’ Forest Hill

Dear followers,

This blog post will give some details about the recent Sydenham Artists’ Trail I was involved in as well as an exciting new opportunity to exhibit my work at the Bankside Gallery in London this coming November, do read on…

Sydenham Artists’ Trail - a wonderful community event

As part of the artists’ trail event I had a framed print displayed in the window of the rather wonderful local delicatessen ‘Pantry’ in Forest Hill. Local businesses were invited to get involved in some artistic endeavours to ‘brighten’ our high streets and as a unique way to support local makers & creatives. I must admit to enjoying a sneaky hazelnut creme doughnut in Pantry when I popped along to check on my print!! Well worth a visit for coffee and a chat with friends or to pick up some fab pantry items or even an evening glass & nibbles……do pay a visit when you can!

Thank you Pantry for the window space!

On a different note, I just received confirmation from a lovely buyer in the US that a recent purchase of a sister print to the one above, had just arrived safe and sound. Dana Harris Seeger is a fellow artist, who also shares her wonderful practice in the form of workshops & tutorials. It is extra special then when we find that other makers seek to support our artistic endeavours and it makes it all the more uplifting. The Anna Lovely Gallery in Sydenham hosted an annual Open Art Exhibition as an official launch event for the artists’ trail. Another original work, ‘Silken Scatter’, a layered screen print on woven silk fabric was exhibited at the gallery space throughout the festival.

The gallery also hosts regular classes, workshops & talks and you can use the button below which directs you to the website if you’d like to find out more.

I am delighted & excited to reveal that 2 works have been selected to exhibit at The International Original Print Exhibition, established by the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE). This is an international open submission exhibition celebrating the best of contemporary printmaking. It will be held at the Bankside Gallery from 3 - 14th November 2021. I was curious to see the selectors list, including Sue Timney, co-founder of ‘Timney Fowler’ design led lifestyle brand and whom I remember referencing when I did my bachelors degree in printed textiles! So all in all a good sign I felt.

2021 SELECTORS:

I am looking forward to seeing the 2 works framed, the first time I have needed to arrange this for such large pieces!
